Haku Records releases a 13-track collaborative album, Hawaiian Lullaby

Haku Records, the record company founded by Kimié Miner, has released a 13-track collaborative album, Hawaiian Lullaby. The album unites Hawai‘i’s new generation of beloved musicians as they sing and share their favorite keiki lullabies and other favorites in both the English and Hawaiian languages. Each unique rendition of classics such as You are My Sunshine (Kimié Miner), Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (Kapena), Pūpū Hinuhinu (Paula Fuga), ʻŌpae ē (Kalani Peʻa), along with popular songs like Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds (The Green) and Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors (Anuhea) evoke vivid and heartfelt memories shared by so many who have grown up in Hawai‘i.

The album features some of Hawai’i’s top recording artists and favorites including 2x GRAMMY® Winner Kalani Pe’a, GRAMMY® Award-Nominee Josh Tatofi, The Green, Paula Fuga, Anuhea, DeAndre’, Kapena, and Kaumakaiwa Kanaka’ole, as well as a special duet with Imua Garza and his mom Pamela Garza. Even Miner’s fourteen-month old daughter, ‘Ōmealani, makes her recording debut in Songbird and Kawelokiliwehi alongside her mom Kimié Miner.

Hawaiian Lullaby is especially close to heart for Kimié Miner, who recorded the album alongside 'Ōmealani while pregnant with her second child.

“It's been a truly incredible experience co-producing, recording and creating this lullaby album with my daughter ‘Ōmealani at every studio session with me from the beginning,” said Kimié Miner. “I felt so much love and inspiration in my new role as a mother throughout this entire process. Even more special was finding out that I was hāpai again with my second child. You Are My Sunshine, By Your Side, Songbird, and Kawelokiliwehi (Mahina) are all very significant songs to me for different reasons but to sing them in our native Hawaiian language just really took them to a new special place.”
